52 Lists: List the things you should be proud of

Another list! But being Scottish/British, and because of my nature, I found this really hard. So I just told myself to write down a few things that came to mind, so they are a bit jumbly. Sorry about that.
But this is just what I'm proud of myself for, what I'm really proud of are the people around me, my little sister, my boyfriend, my parents, my friends from school and earlier and my newer friends at uni, for overcoming many difficulties, for their talents, their qualities and their lovely characters.

In other exciting news, I've been doing a stone setting workshop at uni, which has been so exciting and a lot of fun. I made this ring, which I posted a photo of on my instagram (bytheprimroses if you want to follow).

Re organising my wardrobe..

Earlier this week I rearranged my wardrobe. Since I moved back to the flat after Christmas, the wardrobe has been a bit higgildy piggildy and since it's huuuge (sorry, it seems impossible to get a nice photo of it, but it's massive, trust me). So I took a leaf out of my flatmate's book and organised it in colour spectrum. I have never had so much fun organising my wardrobe. And it looks beautiful! I highly recommend it too, everything is much easier to find and outfits are easier to match. However I will say, don't be too disappointed if it doesn't look as good as you hoped. The hanging things section in wardrobe doesn't look beautiful. But that's because most of my dresses are patterned and not very similar. I'll just need to find some more dresses....

52 Lists: List your greatest comforts

Following on from last week, my second list of Moorea Seal's '52 Lists Project', this weeks list is 'List your greatest comforts'. Because it's January and cold and snowy right now, I think this is a very appropriate list and I had a lot of fun writing it. Oh and just to clarify, Moses and Humphrey are my kittens (cats but I can't accept that they're growing up) and Thomas is my boyfriend. Also, I got mixed up with 'me' and 'you', so I say 'you' but I mean 'me'...

Snow day!

Today was a snow day! It started snowing yesterday on my way home from uni, and it was snowing heavily all night. It was even snowing when I woke up this morning, but I think it must have stopped at some point in between those points. So I asked my landlord (who lives in the bottom half of our house) if I could go in to the beautiful back garden to take some photographs, he was delighted that someone was making use of the snow, and said that was fine, as long as I was careful not to fall in to the pond... He's a very careful man. I would love to post some photos I took of the house in the snow, it looks so lovely, but I don't think that would be a responsible thing to do, and I'm not sure my landlord would be happy either. So here are a selection of photos I took earlier today...

Some honesty...

I love that this is called 'Old man's beard' too!
There were lots of icicles hanging off the garden shed which looked fab! But I loved that you could see all the bubbles inside.

Hope everyone had a lovely snow day wherever you are! Or even a lovely not snow day, if it's not snowing!

New year..

Today was the first day back at life drawing, and I found it surprisingly ok. I normally hate lifedrawing. I'm also busy getting ready to cast my medal this week, excited! :)

Words.

Some people find that Facebook or Youtube are their weakness, but my weakness is definitely Pinterest. I am a huge fan, and I just can't resist repinning every beautiful thing I see (which is every third thing.. This is Pinterest.) On pinterest, one of the first people that I followed was Moorea Seal, not knowing about her popular blog and jewellery shop, it wasn't until just the other day that I started following her blog and found that she had a fab idea of '52 weeks of lists', this being the first week and the first list being 'Words that touch your soul'. So because my other possible weakness is lists, I decided to join in too! Can't wait for more lists.

Hello!

As my first blog and blog post, I don't really have much idea of what to write, despite the fact that I have read many many blogs and written plenty of personal statements, CV's and the like. So to introduce myself, I am a Jewellery design and Silversmithing student, living in Scotland, so having a blog will be very useful to my degree. But it's also something I have been wanting to do for a long time. I love making things and I love being inspired by looking at beautiful things, so I hope that comes across in my blog.

I'm taking part in the 365 Project this year, as of the first of January, taking photos that document my everyday life, often with my iPhone, sometimes with my Nikon D3000, so today's photo was taken just after breakfast, when two little red squirrels came to the birdfeeder. Such cuties.
Feel free to follow me on 365project.org my name is bytheprimroses, like the blog.
Thanks for reading!
